A picture dated 19 July 2011 shows newly arrived Somali internally displaced women at a news settlement in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu. United Nations on 20 July officially declared famine in two southern regions in Somalia as the Horn of Africa region continues to suffer from the worst drought in 60 years. Tens of thousands of Somalis are feared dead in a famine caused by consecutive droughts over the last few years in the country. The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) says 11.3 million people are in need of food assistance.
